Is ICUMSA 600-1200 Food Safe?
- Yes — ICUMSA 600-1200 raw sugar is food grade and safe for human consumption and food manufacturing use. It is used in food factories worldwide as a direct ingredient in products where a slight brown colour and mild molasses flavour are acceptable or desirable.
- However, it is not suitable for applications requiring a neutral flavour, clear colour, or pharmaceutical-grade purity — for those, you need ICUMSA 45 or ICUMSA 35. If you are unsure which grade is right for your application, contact our team and we will advise you.
